Synopsis :

SYNOSIS:

Synopsis :

Uday Shetty (Nana Patekar), Majnu (Anil Kapoor) and their boss, Sikander (Feroz Khan), three Hong Kong-based serio-comic mobsters, are keen to get their sister Sanjana (Katrina Kaif) married into a respectable family.

Synopsis

Ishaan Awasthi is an eight-year-old whose world is filled with wonders that no one else seems to appreciate; colours, fish, dogs and kites are just not important in the world of adults, who are much more interested in things like homework, marks and neatness. And Ishaan just cannot seem to get anything right in class.

When he gets into far more trouble than his parents can handle, he is packed off to a boarding school to ‘be disciplined’. Things are no different at his new school, and Ishaan has to contend with the added trauma of separation from his family.

One day a new art teacher bursts onto the scene, Ram Shankar Nikumbh, who infects the students with joy and optimism. He breaks all the rules of ‘how things are done’ by asking them to think, dream and imagine, and all the children respond with enthusiasm, all except Ishaan. Nikumbh soon realizes that Ishaan is very unhappy, and he sets out to discover why. He meets his parents and comes to know about Ishaan's problems of dyslexia and his wonderful world of imagination. He sets out to help Ishaan at any cost. Finally his dreams comes true when Ishaan stands out as an Art Scholar and also passes out his annual exams in school. At last Ishaan thanks his teacher Ram for helping him out to create his own world.

Nandkishore Awasthi is Ishaan’s father. He gets very angry when Ishaan’s teachers from school complain. Nandkishore is of the view that only Boarding school can teach discipline to Ishaan. He simply opposes the fact that his son is dyslexic. He thinks that his son is lazy and does not do the work of his own will.

Tisca Chopra as Maya Awasthi

Maya is Ishaan’s mother. She makes good food and looks after Ishaan when he gets hurt. She is very sad that Ishaan has to go to boarding school but she thinks it will be for the best.

Sachet Engineer as Yohaan Awasthi

Yohaan is Ishaan’s Dada (elder brother). Dada is a very good student and also plays tennis and cricket. He also looks after Ishaan and loves him.

Aamir Khan as Ram Shankar Nikumbh

Nikumbh sir doesn't scold Ishaan like the other teachers. He sports a very nice smile and he likes colours and fish and dogs and painting too. He comes to know about Ishaan's dyslexic nature and comes to help him. He is also said to be dyslexic in childhood.

Tanay Chheda as Rajan Damodaran

Rajan is Ishaan’s best friend. He is very smart and intelligent and a good student and always knows the answers to all the questions. He always tries to be helpful to Ishaan.

In the end, he realises the folly of his ways and atones for it.

Taran Adarsh of IndiaFM commented, "Madhuri has always delivered qualitative performances and the fire continues to burn to this date. She's top notch, but how one wishes the script would've done justice to her talent. It doesn't offer her a pedestal to take that big leap. The loyal Madhuri fans would surely feel disillusioned and saddened. Kunal Kapoor is likable; he enacts his part with natural ease. Konkona is nice, but when compared to her previous work, it's definitely not in that league". Hindustan Times wrote, "Madhuri Dixit has a cool time. Konkona is overacting while Kunal Kapoor is flustered", while Rajeev Masand from CNN-IBN noted, "Madhuri is the one and only star of the film.Konkona Sen Sharma is nothing short of fantastic. Her greatest strength is that she isn't afraid of making a fool of herself and she doesn't worry about being laughed at. As a result, her performance in Aaja Nachle is fearless and uninhibited. Vinay Pathak, playing Madhuri's dull, stodgy middle-class landlord makes his every minute on screen so memorable. Just watch him bring to life that scene where he approaches Madhuri for a part in the troupe so he can prove to his wife that he isn't a bore. And then there's Ranvir Shorey, who strikes all the right chords as Madhuri's devoted admirer - he invests in his part just the perfect dose of vulnerability, creating in the end a character that's so lovable".

Ranbir Raj (Ranbir Kapoor), a free spirited idealist – dreamer, arrives in a dreamy surreal town and joins as a lead singer in its swankiest club. Here he bumps into Gulabji (Rani Mukerji), a prostitute, who immediately falls for his naivety and innocent charm. One night he notices a mysterious girl standing alone on a bridge holding an umbrella. As he tries to strike a conversation, she shies away. But he still keeps following her and both end up becoming friends. This mystery girl, Sakina (Sonam Kapoor) forever carries a sadness in her eyes which leaves Ranbir intrigued. But so mesmerized he is with her that his every minute goes into discussing her with his land lady, Lillipop (Zohra Sehgal) and Gulabji.

Just when Ranbir is about to express his true feelings to her, she reveals the reason behind her unhappiness. She tells him she is waiting for her love, Imaan (Salman Khan) to return. A year back before leaving, he had promised that he would be back and meet her on the same bridge that he saw her waiting. Jilted, Ranbir manages to hide his emotional outburst. What happens after Sakina requests him to help her find back her lost love is what the rest of the film is all about. At the end, Sakina goes with her boyfriend Imaan as he had promised Sakina that he would take her with him on the Eid .

Aditya (Shahid Kapoor), a demoralized industrialist, gets even more depressed after attending the marriage of the girl he loves the most. Feeling ashamed to face the world, he walks out of the marriage gathering and boards a train in the night and meets Geet (Kareena Kapoor), a beautiful talkative girl who is leaving Mumbai to go to her hometown - Bhatinda (Punjab).

In the beginning, Geet irritates Aditya to a large extent and every meeting becomes mental torture for him. Geet discloses big plans to Aditya of eloping with her boyfriend Anshuman (Tarun Arora) as she fears resentment from her parents. Finally, the two find themselves stranded on a desolate station with no luggage or money. Geet's family (Pawan Malhotra, Dara Singh and Kiran Juneja) welcomes her and Aditya and the friendship turns into love. As per the promise, Aditya helps Geet elope to meet her boyfriend, Anshuman in Shimla.

Destiny despises Geet's love story as Anshuman avoids and dumps her. On the other hand, Aditya begins to do well in life after he resurrects his failing business empire. Geet's family accuses Aditya for his involvement in elopement and finally forces him to locate her. Aditya is traumatized to learn about Geet's misfortune and consoles her to face the circumstances. Aditya manages in patching up the relationship of Geet and Anshuman and they decide to travel back to Bhatinda. Back in Bhatinda Geet realises she is in love Aditya not Anshuman and therefore Geet and Aditya get married.

The film revolves around a small village/town where the people are very conservative and superstitious. Badri (Manoj Joshi) heads a Brahmin family whose ancestral palace is believed to be haunted. Events take on a twist when Avni opens a locked forbidden room. As a result, unnatural events start taking place inside the palace. Badri and Batuk Shankar (Paresh Rawal) try to ward off the evil eye with the help of a priest and a parapsychologist. The blame comes to rest squarely on Radha (Amisha Patel), Badri's adopted daughter. Siddharth brings in his American friend, psychiatrist Dr. Aditya Shrivastav (Akshay Kumar), who uses modern analytical techniques to find out the culprit and solve the mystery. He realizes that not Radha is at fault, but Avni, Siddharth's lovable wife. She suffers from "Dissociative identity disorder". The sad love story of the palace about an king of old, who loved a dancer, Manjulika, who, in turn, loved someone else, triggered Avni's disorder; she assumes the identity of Manjulika and tries to kill her own husband Siddharth, as she sees in him the old king who killed Manjulika's lover. In order to cure Avni of her illness, Aditya triggers Manjulika's personality and makes her promise to leave, if Manjulika gets the opportunity to kill the king and have her revenge. During the ritual, Manjulika is tricked and slays a doll instead of Siddharth. Yet, she is deceived and her personality leaves Avni for good. Aditya hypnotizes the unconscious Avni and tells her that everything is fine and that she will continue her life as a sane, happy and healthy person. Everything ends well and Aditya asks Radha to marry him.

Ravi (Khan) and Padmini (Shobhana) are happily married couple.Ravi is a wage earner who works in the field of plastics - a kind of metaphor that runs through the film whereas his wife gives up her early promise as a classical dancer in order to settle into marriage, which is threatened when their only son (buddhi) turns out to be autistic.Padmini blames Ravi for the child’s mental state because he had dropped him when Buddhi was small.

Buddhi is a retarded teenager with a flair for painting.Ravi and Padmini share a strained relation ship due to their teenage son’s Buddhi’s intellectual handicap.Buddhi, a mildly autistic slow learner displays his flair for art but his parents dont encourage or recognise because of their middle class in securities.Padmini who was a gold medallist herself wants him to be good at mathematics.

Seeing her son is not like other normal children, she takes him to temples, churches and babas, hoping for a miracle.Meanwhile, Dr Satya (Anupam Kher, who has done a lot of research on the subject, discovers a drug named brain-booster that can make Budhhi a genius..So, Ravi meets up with the doctor and makes Buddhi take it. But the brain-booster has its side effects — one of them being amnesia.

Initially Ravi hesitates to inject the drug but one night he is provoked by Padmini to inject Budhhi with the brain booster.Although the immediate reaction after the injection seemed as if Budhhi was going to die but slowly he recovered and emerges as a new born son.The drug changes Buddhi, and he suddenly becomes a very good mathematician, faster than a computer. But he forgets his parents in the bargain.Now the parents begin to encounter the darker aspects of their dream, which they haven’t thought of…

Victoria No. 203 is a 2007 Bollywood film which is a remake of the 1972 hit film Victoria No. 203. It is directed by Anant Mahadevan and produced by Kamal Sadanah whose father Brij Sadanah was the producer and director of the original. It stars Om Puri, Anupam Kher, Jimmy Shergill, Preeti Jhangiani, Javed Jaffrey, Johnny Lever, Kamal Sadanah and marks the debut of newcomer actress Soniya Mehra, the daughter of the late actor Vinod Mehra. The film was released on August 31, 2007.

Synopsis
But a faint air of discontent has begun to creep into her relationship when Aryan (Tusshar Kapoor), joins Janvi?s company. As the name suggests, this is fun filled caper about four friends – Roy (Riteish Deshmukh), who belives that he is the best detective in the world; Manav (Javed Jaffery), who actually happens to be the biggest idiot in the world, but is blissfully unaware about it and his elder brother. Aditya aka Adi (Arshad Warsi), whose encyclopaediac half knowledge about everything only adds to the great expertise of this group; the final component of which is Mr Scared of everything, Boman (Ashish Choudhary). These four lovable idiots live and work together. Their idea of work? Doing small time can jobs! The thought of earning an honest living has never even crossed their minds. One day, while trying to save a dying man. Bose (Prem Chopra), they get their big break. Their life is made! Unfortunately for them Police Inspector, Kabir Nayak (Sanjay Dutt) has been chasing Bose for the last ten years. He finally finds him. Only dead! Desperate for his promotion, he questions the suspicious looking foursome he finds next to the body. Inadvertently they blurt out the secret before managing to escape. Now begins the mother of all chases! As one misadventure follows after another, the five are thrown into hilarious situations that has the audience in splits and quessing. Big Action. Big Fun, Dhamaal!

WHAT’S THE PROBLEM: The confusion primarily springs from the director's attempts to be oversmart and give a new take to Bollywood romance (Agencies)

Bunty isn't bubbly at all. As for bubbly, she's lost her zing too. With both Abhishek and Preity, the quintessential Ms Bubbly, creating zero masti on screen, it's left to the next best bakras to juggle up the requisite bedlam that usually forms the bedrock of Shaad Ali's entertainers. Can Punjabi puttar Bobby Deol and Southall's sharp-tongued slut, Lara Dutta save the day for our high-profile film production house? Nah! Even Amitabh Bachchan's attempts to recreate the kaala jadu of 'Kajra re' with his Jack Sparrow-meets-desi gypsy jigs fails to give Yash Raj films its next big hit. There simply is no spin in the tale. End result? The bechara viewer keeps waiting — and waiting — to jhoom. To no avail.

So what's the problem with the film? The confusion primarily springs from the director's attempts to be oversmart and give a new take to Bollywood romance. One where the story unfolds more through the dialogues than through episodes. But unfortunately, the conversation between the Pakistani girl (Preity) and the chokra from Bhatinda (Abhishek) as they wait for their respective 'fiancees' on a crowded London station is mostly inaudible, inarticulate and a load of gobbledygook.

They both talk a lot, yet the talkathon — and their endless tales — fail to make you laugh, even though there is an attempt to create a series of bizarre situations. Zinta tells the story of her romance with the super-rich Deol who saved her from a crumbling Superman and Abhishek weaves a fable about a French kiss with Lara Dutta. But really, the stories aren't funny at all.

Secondly, there is the hangover of Bunty aur Babli all through the film. Everybody seems to be a con artist here and the truth lies somewhere in between the seen and the heard. But unlike the earlier film which became a metaphor for small-town dreams and success stories, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom shows a great disconnect, both with the cosmopolitan viewer and the mofussil dreamer.

Even the romance seems unreal, minus an emotional core and leaves you cold. While Preity is too plastic as the Paki-Brit girl, Abhishek is absolutely awkward as the downmarket Brit from Bhatinda. Bobby and Lara have little to do while Mr Bachchan gets repetitive as the street singer who sings the same song and dances the same steps, again and again. The only thing that works is the music, another foot-thumping score from Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
Despair. This one might just end up as the great summer let-down.
